The small mixed dorm opens straight onto the garden, which Macondo says is popular with hummingbirds and with backpackers doing morning yoga. Two bunks, four beds and a shared hot-water bathroom next door.
Like every guest you get lockers, free luggage storage and free coffee — which, at Macondo, is where most adventure plans begin.
Shared
Not inside your room: you share a nearby bathroom with other guests.
Shared bathroom next door, with hot water.
You book one bed, not the room.
Name in the booking engine: “4 Mixed Bed Dorm”
Towels: included only where the hostel says so; in dorms, ask or bring your own.

Hostelworld lists check-in until midnight. Arriving early? You're checked in as soon as possible — and if the room isn't ready, there's free coffee and a hammock.
That's the time in Macondo's own booking engine (and on Hostelworld). Booking.com shows 11:30 — if you booked there, confirm with the hostel. Bags can stay after check-out, free.
After you complete the reservation form, the team contacts you to request a 50% deposit. The hostel may cancel reservations if the payment requirement isn't met.
For stays between 20 December and 20 January, public-holiday weekends and Semana Santa, changes or cancellations are accepted up to 7 days before check-in.
Payment options listed by Macondo: cash, Nequi or Davivienda bank transfer. No credit-card payments at check-in.
These are the terms in Macondo's own booking engine (checked October 2026); the engine's terms at the time you book are what count. Booking through Hostelworld or Booking.com? Their terms apply.
